Shelby County High School and one of its students were among 32 Kentucky schools and one from Indiana who won awards in the annual statewide high school journalism contest sponsored by the Kentucky High School Journalism Association, based in Frankfort.
Shelby County High School received second place in broadcast documentary and second place in yearbook cover design. Matt Smith won first place in sports writing.
The contest recognizes high school journalists participating in high school newspapers, yearbooks and broadcast programs.
