SCHS volleyball team wins Bath tourney

The Shelby County volleyball team captured the Citizens Bank Volleyball Throwdown at Bath County on Saturday.
“The girls played like champions,” Shelby County Coach Felicia Pace said.
The Rockets beat Powell County, 2-1 (18-25, 25-14, 15-13), Boyd County, 2-0 (25-8, 25-18), and Bath County, 2-0 (25-14, 25-18), in pool play to advance to the gold bracket tournament.
In that competition, Shelby County topped Raceland, 2-1 (19-25, 25-11, 15-10), East Ridge, 2-1 (25-23, 23-25, 15-11), and, in the final, Greenup County, 2-0 (25-6, 25-14).
