SCHS runners turn attention to home meet

-A A +A
By Todd Martin

The Rocket and Lady Rocket cross country teams got the season underway Saturday at the St. Xavier Tiger run.

SCHS boys' cross country head coach Randall McDowell got about what he expected from a somewhat depleted varsity squad.

The boys ran without top runner Stacey Eden and had a few others out with injuries, but still finished ninth out of 27 teams.

"I figured about top 10 and we'd be doing well," McDowell said. "We only ran six in the varsity meet, so we were a little undermanned."
