More than 300 Shelby County High School seniors will walk the line tonight at the school's graduation ceremony in Frankfort. The ceremony will be held at the Frankfort convention center and begins at 7:30 p.m. Those planning on attending must have a ticket. Principal Gary Kidwell is anticipating a smooth ceremony. Parking should not be a problem, he said.
After the ceremony, seniors have been invited to attend Project Graduation at SCHS. According to sheriff's deputy Gina Johnson, the program is a preventative measure for helping seniors make wise decisions after graduation. The door open at 11:30 p.m.
This year's project graduation will have a Hawaiian theme. Johnson said volunteers will have transformed the look of the school through an assortment of decorations.
Johnson said the night will be full of fun. Throughout the night seniors will have the opportunity to play games and win "funny money." At the end of the night, seniors will be able to turn their funny money in for raffled tickets good for various prizes. This year the prize given away include several new laptops and a car. The program lasts until 5 a.m.
