Shelby County High School has won a $3,000 grant from the National Football League and National Dairy Council to promote physical fitness and healthy eating.
Christina Olsson, the youth services center coordinator, applied for the grant, which provides $2,000 for nutrition and $1,000 for fitness. She is coordinating plans to help students sample healthier foods and to acquire new exercise equipment.
Wright Elementary had won a similar grant, and SCHS Assistant Principal Henry Robbins, who had worked on that bid while at Wright, helped with the application.
