The Shelby County Board of Education will be working overtime during the last part of the month.
The board has moved the meeting scheduled for this past Thursday at Clear Creek Elementary to Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. at the SCPS Central Office on Main Street.
The board is also adding special called meetings on Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. and Nov. 4 at 7 p.m., both also at central office.
The special called meetings will allow the board to hear academic improvement plans from each school.
The Site-based Decision Making (SBDM) councils at each school are currently meeting with principals and teachers to analyze KCCT scores and prepare the school's improvement plans.
Each school will then send representatives to meet with the board and discuss the revised plans for academic improvement.
This gives the board the opportunity to provide constructive feedback on each plan.
The meeting schedule is:
Oct. 19, at 6 p.m. - Simpsonville and Southside elementary schools and East and West middle schools.
Oct. 21, at 6 p.m. - Clear Creek, Painted Stone, Heritage and Wright elementary schools.
Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. - Shelby County and Collins high schools and The Education Center @ Cropper.
Regularly scheduled meetings on Oct. 28 at Central Office and Nov. 11 at West Middle will remain unchanged.
