Roy Wayne McIntosh, 78, went to be with his Heavenly Father following a brief illness on Saturday, November 12, 2011 in Louisville. He was born to Omer and Eva McIntosh of Shelbyville on November 22, 1932 who preceded him in death. Roy served in the U.S. Army after the Korean War. He retired from Hobart Manufacturing in Louisville and Browning Pontiac in Eminence. He was a member of New Liberty Christian Church but had been recently attending Southeast Christian Church. Roy enjoyed his daily routine of meeting with his friends at McDonald's in Shelbyville, KY.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sylvia McIntosh of Shelbyville; his son, Steven Wayne McIntosh (Sandy) of Louisville; his granddaughter, "the light of his life", Hannah Taylor McIntosh of Louisville; his sisters, Shirley Hightower (George) of Oklahoma, Joyce McIntosh of Shelbyville, Geraldine Stratton (Stewart) of Simpsonville, and Patricia "Trish" Clifton (Rocky) of Shelbyville; his brothers, Charles McIntosh (Betty) of Shelbyville, Leonard McIntosh (Arbeautis) of Shelbyville, Nelson McIntosh (Linda) of Frankfort, and Gary McIntosh (Nita) of Oklahoma City, OK; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Shannon Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Shouse officiating. Visitation: 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Grove Hill Cemetery.
