The River City Rovers, the Premier Development League team that is playing its home matches in Shelbyville this summer, tied its second match of the season and won its third this past weekend.

River City played to a 0-0 tie with K-W United FC (0-2-1) last Thursday night at the Shelby County Athletic Complex and bounced back, though, with a 2-1 triumph against the host Michigan Bucks in Canton, Mich., on Saturday.

Against the Bucks, River City (1-1-1) rallied for two late goals – one in the 87th minute and the other in stoppage time – for its first victory of the season.

After a scoreless first half, Michigan (1-1-0) took the lead in the 54th minute off a free-kick opportunity.

The Rovers got the equalizer with 3 minutes remaining in regulation when Dylan Terry beat a defender to the end line and crossed the ball to Mustaf Warsame at the top of the six. Warsame tapped in the pass to tie the match.

Then, 3 minutes into stoppage time, River City was awarded a free kick 10 yards inside midfield. Peter May sailed the ball to the near post. Bucks keeper Adam Grinwis misread the kick, which went over his head and into the net for the game-winner.

Taylor Hafling notched the win in goal for the Rovers.

The Rovers next host the Chicago Fire (1-0-0) at 7 p.m. Saturday at the SCAC. Tickets are $7.
