The Shelby County Rockets run through the Class 6A playoffs ended with a 45-35 loss at Boone County Friday.
Shelby County had five turnovers and a punt blocked in the game, but still had a chance to win. The Rockets cut the lead to eight points with 10:49 remaining in the fourth quarter. However, Boone County answered with a seven minute scoring drive that covered 55 yards and pushed the Rebels' lead to 45-29. Shelby scored a quick touchdown when quarterback Alex Matthews found Kyle Marston on an 11-yard TD pass, but Shelby couldn't convert a two-point conversion and Boone County ran out the final 2:30.
