The SCHS football team started slow, but finished with a flurry, topping Scott County 60-56 in the first-round of the Class 6A playoffs Friday.
Shelby County (7-4) trailed 29-7 at the end of the first quarter, and 43-27 at halftime before taking control of the game in the second half.
Scott County (9-2) blocked two Rocket punts in that first quarter, leading to a touchdown and a safety, and the Rockets struggled to stop Scott's potent run offense.
