The Shelby County Rockets picked up a 55-37 win over visiting Eastern Friday and kicked a three-game losing streak in the process.
Shelby's much maligned defense stood strong and the offense was clicking as the Rockets (4-3) turned an early 19-7 deficit into the team's first victory since a Sept. 14 win at Doss.
After Eastern (6-2) built the 18-point lead about midway through the second quarter, Shelby County outscored the previously No. 13-ranked Eagles 48-18 over the final two-and-a-half quarters.
