The SCHS boys' basketball team's seven-game win streak ended Friday when Anderson County topped the Rockets 55-49 in the 30th District Championship Friday at Anderson County.
The Rockets trailed by 11, 43-32, at the start of the fourth quarter, but used a 13-2 run to close within one, 48-47, with 1:30 to play. But Anderson County hit five of six free throws over the final 29.2 seconds to seal the victory.
Boomer Beckley led the Rockets with 12 points, and Donovan Johnson and Daryl Hicks each added 10. Anderson County's C.J. Penny led all scorers with 23.
Johnson, Beckley and Cache Tomlinson were named to the all 30th District team. The Rockets will still advance to the 8th Region Tournament, which begins Wednesday at Henry County High School.
