Rockets equal 2012 victories

The Shelby County girls’ basketball team equaled its victory total of last season with a pair of romps late last week.

The Rockets (16-12), who went 16-9 last season, routed host North Oldham, 56-37, Thursday and Atherton, 55-30, Saturday at Mike Casey Gymnasium.

A big second period propelled the visiting Rockets past the Mustangs (6-18), who have lost nine in a row. The score  was tied at 11 at the end of the first quarter before the Rockets ran over the Mustangs in the second period, 26-6.
