Rankin headed south to Southern

Collins senior Bailey Rankin has committed to play softball at Southern University and A & M College in Baton Rouge, La.

“I really like the coach and the school,” Rankin said. “[Plus] it’s always warm there, and I love warm weather.”

Rankin is a two-year starter, so far, in the outfield for the Titans. She helped the team to an 8th Region runner-up finish in 2011 as a sophomore then last season, after moving to center field from left, helped Collins to an 18-16 record.
