The Shelby County Fair did well in revenue this year, fair officials said, which is good news, since the fair receives very little funding from city or county government.
Jeff Hagerman, treasurer of the Shelby County A&M Association, which puts on the fair, said this year, the Shelby County Fiscal Court received $5,000 from the fiscal court and $1,000 from the City of Shelbyville.
But that’s just a drop in the bucket from the $50,000 needed to put on the fair each year.
