The Shelbyville American Legion Post 37 baseball team had an offensive weekend that a team could only dream of. The boys amassed 54 runs on 59 hits, including five home runs, over just four games at the Shelbyville American Legion Invitational Thursday through Sunday.
However, despite those amazing offensive statistics, the team left the park Sunday feeling empty.
Shelbyville scored eight runs on 11 hits in the championship game against Cassville, Mo., but came up short, losing 10-8, mainly because of committing six errors.
