By Todd Martin

The Shelbyville American Legion Post 37 baseball team got one gem in a tough 1-3 weekend at Western Kentucky University.

Shelbyville lost three close games but got a no hitter from Tyler Layton on Sunday to notch the team’s first victory this season, 2-0, against Bedford, Ind. Layton was just one walk in the sixth inning from a perfect game. A former Shelby County pitcher now playing for Georgetown College, he had six strikeouts in the win and faced just 22 batters.
