Police ask for help solving theft

Shelbyville Police are asking for the public's help in locating a trailer that was stolen over the weekend on Washington Street.

Shelbyville Police Officer Istvan Kovacs reported that between 5 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday, someone stole a utility trailer by cutting the lock off the trailer, which was locked to a post.

The trailer is described as a black 5 foot by 10 foot, 2006 “Carry-On.”

The trailer has a winch attached, bearing a red and white banner which says, “We buys ATVs.”

The trailer has Kentucky registration plates, 463821.

The theft occurred in the 100th block of Washington Street.

Anyone with information relating to this incident, no matter how small, is encouraged to call. Crimes are usually solved by insignificant details. You can remain anonymous and still receive a cash reward up to $1,000. Call the Crimestoppers hotline at 633-4500.
