SHELBYVILLE-Paul Allen Heightchew, 67, passed away Monday, 10 January 2011, at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville.

SHELBYVILLE-Paul Allen Heightchew, 67, passed away Monday, 10 January 2011, at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville.

A native of Henry County, he was the son of the late Delmer and Mildred Douglas Heightchew.  He was a member of Burks Branch Baptist Church, the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, and the Kentucky and Tennessee Walking Horse Associations.  A lifelong farmer, he retired from the Kentucky Department of Revenue as a branch manager in the Property Tax Division.  He was former school teacher, having taught in Oldham County and at Cropper, and was currently a school bus driver for Shelby County Public Schools.

Survivors include Georgia Heighchew, and his children, Paul David Heightchew and Stacy Ketcham, and her husband, Jim, all of Shelbyville; his sisters, Martha Parker, and her husband John, of Shelbyville, and Joy Poole, and her husband Ronnie, of Bagdad; and his grandchildren, Lindsey and Andrea Ketcham.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with Reverend Billy Betts officiating.  Interment will be in Shady Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., Wednesday at Hall-Taylor.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Burks Branch Baptist Church.
