The Kentucky Core Contest Tests results and Annual Yearly Progress report showed that all nine Shelby County Public Schools are well on their way to reaching the state’s academic index goal of 100 by 2014. But one school already has crushed the target. At the Sept. 24 school board meeting Superintendent James Neihof and the board acknowledged Painted Stone Elementary Principal Michelle Shipley and applauded her school reaching an index of 107 to become the first school in the district to exceed the state’s goal.
