Many of the more than 400 meals served during the Shelby County Optimist Club's Christmas dinner Friday were home deliveries to individuals and families who otherwise might not have had a Christmas meal.
The Optimists also served those who came in to the Multi-Purpose Community Action Agency on Washington Street for a sit-down meal. Meal organizer and Optimist officer Jean Glore said about 60 volunteers came to cook, serve and deliver the meals. "We really had a good day," she said.
