No rain on the parade

There was something for everyone at the Bagdad Days festival Friday and Saturday.

The main attraction was the parade Saturday, which narrowly escaped rain. The wet stuff held off long enough to delight the crowd, allowing the Saddles and Spurs Drill Team to perform an intricate maneuver afterward. But then, while kids squealed coming down the big slide and playing at other games, the rain began, putting a damper on those who had come to browse the yard sales and other vendor booths. The event was not rained out, however, as people braved the weather and managed to have a good time just the same.

“We’re in our 19th year for this, and everybody always has a good time, no matter what,” said Kyle Wiley, pastor of Bagdad Baptist Church, where a lot of games were set up in the parking lot.
