 Computer monitors available

Triple S Planning & Zoning has two computer monitors it is willing to donate to a qualified nonprofit agency. The monitors are a 19-inch Relisys and a 15-ionch dwell. They are used but working.  Ministry fundraiser

Father's Love, an urban ministry, is having a fundraiser lunch and dinner on Thursday. The cost of the meals is $7 each for eat-in or carry-out.  Lunch is served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., and dinner is served from 4-7 p.m.  Place your order by Wednesday by calling 633-0734 or 682-1018, or by sending an email to marti.brown@living-waters.org.  Father's Love is located at 624 Henry Clay St. in Shelbyville.

KSU accreditation renewed

Kentucky State University received word that it has earned reaffirmation of its accreditation by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. SACS made the announcement at its annual meeting Tuesday in Atlanta. “The decision to reaffirm Kentucky State University’s accreditation confirms our commitment to providing quality programs, so that our students are well-prepared to compete in a challenging, global society,” President Mary Evans Sias said.

Bears at Citizens Union Bank

Stuffed bears are being collected at Citizens Union Bank and its branch offices. These bears go to children who are guests at Christmas at Claudia's on Dec. 20, children who are ill or in need, some go to police to keep in their cruisers, some are taken to nursing homes, the small ones go to the soldiers in Iraq (they keep them in the tanks), and any torn or dirty ones go to the animal shelters.


Christmas at Claudia's needs help

Monetary donations and volunteers are needed for the annual Christmas at Claudia's, which will be held Dec. 20 at Claudia Sanders Dinner House in Shelbyville. The event treats Shelby County children and families, elderly and children to a holiday dinner and gifts.
