Lonnie Monroe, 45, of Shelbyville, charged with manslaughter in a deadly crash, is asking a judge to toss out as evidence a conversation a conversation he had with investigators.
His attorney, Nathan Riggs, filed that motion Friday in Shelby Circuit Court, telling Shelby Circuit Judge Charles Hickman that a conversation that Monroe had with Kentucky State Police investigators before he was charged with vehicular manslaughter should be inadmissible because Monroe was not read his Miranda Rights at that time.
