A Shelbyville man who was driving his lawn mower to get his mail was killed when his mower was hit by a driver in a pickup truck at the end of his driveway, police said.
Jason Rice, a detective with the Shelby County Sheriff's office said that Herman Moore, 88, died at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville Wednesday afternoon while waiting to be airlifted to the University of Louisville.
Rice said that speed was not a factor and that no charges will be brought against the other driver, who is 17 years old.
"It was just a terrible accident," he said.
