A Shelby County man was arrested and charged with assault and related offenses after a heated argument in which he allegedly shot his girlfriend’s car several times with a pistol, police say.
Christian A. Myles, 22, of 469 Rockbridge Road was charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), first-degree wanton endangerment and second-degree criminal mischief after an incident that happened just after midnight Monday morning.
A Shelbyville Police report said that an argument between Myles and his girlfriend escalated when he called someone, then put his cell phone on the coffee table with the speaker on, and she broke it.
That’s when Myles grabbed a pistol, walked outside and shot the car four times, the report said.
The wanton endangerment comes from discharging the gun with neighbors in close proximity.
Myles is lodged at the Shelby County Detention Center.
