In 1937, when gas was 18 cents a gallon, a poor farming family of seven nightly gathered at a house on Fields Lane for a meal, laughter and conversation.
Now, 70 years later - although they have married and their parents and one of the siblings have passed away - the family continues the mealtime tradition they started in that five-bedroom farmhouse at local restaurants throughout Shelby County.
