For better or worse, 2007 is history.

As we always do, the staff of The Sentinel-News sat down at the end of 2007 and sorted through the headlines to determine the top 10 stories for the year. Some stories - the selection of the site for the new judicial center - were obvious choices. Others needed some hemming and hawing before they made the cut.

In the end, we settled on the stories below as the top 10 for 2007. They appear in no particular order It was enough work picking out the 10; we didn't want to deal with ranking them.
