A Shelbyville man is in still in recovery after being shot early Sunday during an altercation that followed a Halloween party.
The Shelby County Sheriff's office said Jason Coulter,33, was shot twice outside the house at 850 Bass Lane. He was transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Hospital.
Deputies arrested Angus Walker, 24, on charges of assault in the first degree and tampering with physical evidence.
Detective Jason Rice said officers responded to a call at 2:30 a.m. in the Aqua Shores neighborhood east of Shelbyville. An altercation between Walker and Coulter escalated from oral to physical, with Coulter eventually being shot in front of the house.
"We don't have beliefs that it was drug related or involved a disgruntled spouse," Rice said. "It was a simple argument that escalated to the point of gunfire."
