Patrons of Metzger's Country Store have responded enthusiastically to the store's new charitable campaign for animals, the owner said.
Charlie Metzger said that his new promotion, called "Round Up," has collected about $400 so far to be used to benefit the Shelby County Humane Society and The Woodstock Foundation.
When customers make a purchase, they are asked if they would like to "round up" their bill to the nearest dollar amount. The change is then used for the nonprofit organization being promoted, which will change periodically, Metzger said.
