Thwarted effort to help animals
My daughter is a sophomore at Collins High School and active in the JROTC program. A few years ago, a friend of hers lead a project called "Feed the Polls." Voters brought canned goods to polling sites and they were collected at the end of the day and taken to the Food Pantry.
This year, my daughter thought it would be a good idea to collect items for the Shelby County Animal Shelter on voting day. She rallied her fellow JROTC cadets and was ready to go.
