A one-vehicle accident on I-64 that sent a Lawrenceburg man to the hospital Wednesday morning did not cause any major traffic tie-ups, police say.
Kentucky State Police spokesperson Kendra Wilson said that Marcus Brown, 26, of Lawrenceburg, lost control of his 1999 Pontiac near the 44-mile marker as he was traveling eastbound on I-64 at about 7:30 a.m.
Brown’s car left the roadway and struck an earthen embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn in a field, Wilson said.
Wilson said it’s not known why Brown ran off the road, but that alcohol or drugs is not suspected.
“He may have blown a tire or something, we’re not sure yet,” she said.
Brown was transported by Shelby County EMS to Frankfort Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.
