Labor Day parades at Waddy and downtown Shelbyville

Labor Day festivities this year will include two parades as well as a youth pageant.

The pageant will be held at 6 p.m. at the Stratton Center on Monday and is open to ages 1 through 18.

The parade in Waddy will begin at 10 a.m. and will run through downtown Waddy.

The Labor Day Parade sponsored by the NAACP will take place on Main Street in Shelbyville beginning at 11 a.m. The Bash will begin at Daniel Field off Washington Street immediately following the parade. The parade walking units will meet at 10:15 at the Shelby County Board of Education on Main Street. Floats and vehicles will also meet at 10:15 at First Baptist Church.
