The Kentucky State Police's Post 12 in Frankfort conducted more than 30 percent more arrests in 2008, based on statistics released this week for criminal investigations, arrests, collisions, fatalities, traffic enforcement and calls for service.
In 2008, Post 12 troopers and detectives responded to 10,890 calls for service, up by just more than 1 percent from 2007, but criminal investigations increased by about 13 percent (to 866), leading to the explosion in arrests.
