Kentucky wounded heroes

-A A +A

Chuck Reed (second row, far right) is a Shelby County resident who is a retired Kentucky State Trooper and a retired member of the Army National Guard. Because he knows how public servants like him can be injured in the line of duty, he is proud to work with the non-profit group called Kentucky Wounded Heroes. The program provides cost-free excursions to firefighters, police officers and veterans who have been hurt while serving. This group was recently treated to four days of fishing walleye on Lake Erie. Other locals involved in the trip were an escort/registered nurse, Erik Butler (who took the photo); another escort, retired judge Mike Harrod, second row third from right; and former deputy sheriff, Paul Dugle, second row eighth from right. Individuals interested in getting involved or making a donation to further this cause can visit the website kentuckywoundedheroes.net.
