Karas named runner of year

Collins eighth-grader Gabby Karas has been named the Girls Runner of the Year by the Kentucky Track & Cross Country Coaches Association.
Karas captured the KHSAA Class AA Cross Country Championship, her second in a row, in record time earlier this month. She covered the 5,000-meter course at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington in 17 minutes, 44.18 seconds.
