Judicial center closer to reality

Plans for the new judicial center, to be located in downtown Shelbyville, moved a step closer to reality when four of the parcels of land it will be situated on were acquired last week.

Shelby County Judge-Executive Rob Rothenburger said there are 10 properties altogether which are allocated for both the building and the parking lot.

Two of parcels closed on were owned by the city of Shelbyville and will be for the building site. The other two are located at 2nd and Main streets, which will be the parking site for the center.
