The Home Run Herndons from Clear Creek Elementary are using egg cartons to help with learning how to do division. Students use the cartons and beans/chips to make equal groups. They count out beans or chips for the dividend, and then the egg carton holes become the divisor number and they count putting one bean/chip in each egg carton hole until all are gone. The number of beans/chips in one egg carton hole is the quotient. Herndon said, “We are also recycling our used egg cartons.
