Shelbyville’s John Hunter and his teammate notched a Top 10 finish in the 2014 Carhartt College Series National Championship of bass fishing last weekend.

Hunter and Mike Huff, who represented Georgetown College, finished ninth out of 84 teams on Chatuge Reservoir in Young Harris, Ga.

Hunter and Huff finished with a two-day total of 10 fish that weighed 18 pounds and 15 ounces, not too far behind the leaders, Bethel University’s Zach Parker and Matt Roberts, who had 10 fish for 27-5.
