Holiday Events Turkey Trot

Leadership Shelby 4th Annual Turkey Trop is 9 a.m. Saturday at 6th and Main streets in Shelbyville. Registration and packet pickup is 7:30-8:15 a.m. The entry fee is $20 before Nov. 15 and $25 after that. The event is sponsored by Crahan Wealth Management.   Light Up Simpsonville

Light Up Simpsonville is 6 p.m. Saturday at the Simpsonville Community Park and Gymnasium. Carriage rides, crafts for kids, visit from the North Pole, chili and other activities featured. Music is provided by Silver Wings.

  Kids Korner

Thanksgiving Fun is the theme of the Kids Korner activities 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday at Centenary Methodist Church in Shelbyville. Children, grades K-5th are invited to fun, lunch and a take-home snack. Parents activities are available. Designed for children on free or reduced meals programs.   Community Thanksgiving service

The Shelby County Ministerial Alliance will sponsor its annual Community Thanksgiving service at the Centenary United Methodist Church, 429 Main St., at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Rick Underwood of Hempridge Baptist Church will officiate.

  Thanksgiving meal

The Shelby County Coalition of Ministers Thanksgiving Gathering is 10:30 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, at New Mount Zion. The speaker is the Rev. Robert Marshall. Music will be provided by joint choirs.

  Thanksgiving at Mount Vernon

The community-wide Thanksgiving dinner is 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 26, Thanksgiving Day, at Mount Vernon Baptist on Hwy. 395, south of I-64. Families and individuals are invited.

  Christmas in Mount Eden

Christmas in Mount Eden always is Dec. 4 and will feature a live nativity scene, carolers in sleighs, Santa in Toyland, carriage and trolley rides, country music and a chili supper throughout the center of town and at the fire house.

  Theater's Winter Fantasy

The Shelby County Community Theatre (SCCT) will hold its Winter Fantasy on Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. at the Evan Settle Gym. The annual fundraiser helps provide for the theater's basic operational needs. Our Lady of Guadalupe Academy is pleased to announce our 3rd annual Spirit of Christmas Dance featuring the fabulous Monarchs and a $3,000 raffle prize.
