Shelbyville City Council will hear a first reading Thursday night on property taxes for residents in the Hi Point area in east Shelbyville.
If this annual ordinance adjustment passes, there are 53 lot owners in Phase I of that development who would pay $1,629.46 per lot in property taxes.
The action is known as the Clear Creek Public Improvement Bond, and City Clerk Inez Davis explained that this is an annual process because of the bonds were structured on those lots back in the 1990s.
