Mary Lloyd Farmer takes a photo of Ann Harris (center) wearing a crown because she is Queen for the Day at Crescent Place on Thursday, celebrating her 103rd birthday. Harris lived alone in the house she and her late husband, Glenn, owned on Brown Avenue, only moving to Crescent Place last May. Several members of her church, First Baptist Church Shelbyville, attended the party along with Crescent Place residents, such as Annie Smith (left), and Harris’ cousin from Louisville, Bee Lyons.
