Guadalupe students race through competition

Caterina and Gabriella Karas, students at Our Lady of Guadalupe Academy in Simpsonville, ran through the competition at local, district and state AAU cross country competitions and earned the chance to compete at the national AAU meet on Dec. 1.

Caterina, an eighth-grader, finished 18th and Gabriella, a third-grader, took 15th in their respective age groups at the national meet on Dec. 1 in Virginia Beach, Va.

While both sisters were the Louisville city champs in their age groups, Caterina said she was not so sure she made the national meet.
