At Marcus Goldsmith’s pretrial conference in Shelby Circuit Court Monday, his trial date of July 28 was changed to Dec. 15.
Monday’s hearing had been expected to be his last scheduled court appearance before the trial starts. However, since prosecutors asked for a postponement of the trial, he could have another pretrial conference before the new trial date.
Goldsmith is facing a charge of murder and related offenses from 2012, and his trial has been moved several times, most recently from May 14 to July 28.
The trial date had been changed in April because of a conflict in court scheduling.
In addition to murder, Goldsmith, 54, is also charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree assault (domestic violence) and tampering with physical evidence in the stabbing death of Keith Jackson at his apartment at 901 Main St in March 2012.
Goldsmith’s bond remained unchanged at $250,000 cash.
