Getting ready for reading

Emily Swindler, Julie Broughton, Gary Barriger and Caitlin Murphy listen as Pam Petty of Western Kentucky University starts a professional development session for secondary teachers. The series of workshops are for those teachers identified to teach Summer Reading Academy for students in fifth, sixth, seventh and ninth grades. The summer school starts Monday at West Middle for secondary and at Painted Stone for first and third grades. It offers breakfast, lunch and bus transportation during its 18-day schedule.
