A former Shelbyville man serving time at the Kentucky State Reformatory at La Grange has been indicted on Shelby County charges of sex abuse and incest of a child.

Eladio Alfaro, 39, formerly of 557 Eden Shell Lane in Shelbyville, was indicted May 9 by a Shelby County Grand Jury of first-degree sexual abuse and incest.

The indictment says that Alfaro committed the incest “with a person whom he knew to be a descendent and the victim was less than 12 years of age.”

Court records say that Alfaro committed the acts in 2007 in Shelby County.

Shelby County Sheriff Mike Armstrong said he does not know what Alfaro is serving time for at La Grange or how long he has been there.

Prison officials were unavailable for comment.
