Steve DeBoer knows how hard it is to be out of work. He has experienced the struggles first hand.
"I was once employed by The Budd Company [for six years], and I know the area has taken a pretty good hit lately," he said.
Now after climbing the ladder to the position of Regional Branch Manager at Liberty National Life Insurance Company, he said he is excited to announce an opportunity for 100-plus people to find work at the company's new Branch Office in Louisville.
"We're in the middle of a huge national expansion," he said. "Liberty National grew 30 percent last year. And they're predicting 100 percent growth nationwide this year."
Liberty National Life Insurance Co., a subsidiary of Torchmark Corp., will hold a grand opening and job interview event Wednesday, May 27 at the Hurstbourne Holiday Inn, located at 1325 S. Hurstbourne in Louisville.
Information sessions and interviews will occur at 9 a.m., noon, 3 p.m., and 6 p.m. The company will be looking for employees to fill sales agent and management positions at the Louisville location.
"And potentially down the road more clerical stuff," he added.
As a major provider of individual life and supplemental health insurance, employees who worked all of 2008 had an average commission of around $61,000.
Many available positions have the potential to offer an insurance package, a retirement plan, a 401(k) plan, disability, dental and group life coverage.
"They've [Liberty National] been in business since 1900," he said. "They're not going anywhere. Stability is important to people this days."
