The Shelby County Fiscal Court recently gave thumbs up to helping to fund a water line upgrade project for Waddy.

At their regular meeting on Tuesday night, magistrates voted unanimously to pitch in $20,000 to put in a new 6-inch water line on McCormick Road in Waddy that will serve nearly 60 residents.

Magistrate Tony Carriss, who serves District 6, said the total cost of the project is estimated at around $80,000 but that the other $60,000 has been taken care of.
