A family escaped harm after their home on Eminence Pike was severely damaged by fire early Wednesday morning.
At 4:01 a.m., the Shelby County Fire Department responded to the home of Bill and Nydia Bors, 5750 Eminence Pike.
Assistant Chief Jeff Ivers said that upon arrival the fire was raging in a second story bedroom, but the family had made it safely out of the house.
No one was hurt during the incident and fire crews managed to contain the fire to one bedroom, although the home sustained smoke and water damage, he said.
