Farmers market grows

-A A +A
By The Staff

Once again the selling season for the Shelby County Farmers' Market has come to a close. This was a difficult growing season for all due to a variety of adverse conditions. I am proud of all of our vendors for the determination to bring all of our market customers' fresh fruits and vegetables throughout a challenging season.

Growth was evident not only in our gardens but, in our membership as well. We continued to deliver fresh harvested fruits and vegetables, local honey, handmade soap, farm fresh eggs, baked goods, jams, salsa, handcrafted wood items, fresh cut flowers, and plants.

Our success this year and past years was due to community support. Without your patronage, whether you visited the market once or every Saturday, we would not be able to continue to offer the variety of locally produced goods. Therefore, we give a big thank you to our customers. The market members would like to thank the Shelby County Fair Board and the Shelby County Cooperative Extension Office for their support and cooperation.

The Market will open the 2008 season on April 26, 2008 in the Coots Barn at the Fairgrounds. We hope to see all of you there.
